★ Gut Knife | Slaughter (Factory New)

Skin overview

★ Gut Knife | Slaughter is a knife whose blade is covered in a tomato red candy coat over silver and lighter red stripes, with a wooden handle. In Factory New the coat is complete from the hook to the tip, so the red layers read deep and glossy and the stripes keep their sharp outlines. This is the version for buyers who want the finish exactly as it was painted.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Appearance in Factory New

The blade is coated in translucent tomato red over a striped base, giving swirls of deep crimson and pale salmon that run along its length. Near the spine and the base of the blade the stripes break into grey and silver patches, and the serrated spine and the gut hook carry the same red layer. The sharpened bevel shows a bright silver line against the red. The handle is reddish-brown wood with metal pins and a lanyard hole and is not covered by the finish. On worn copies the red coat thins first at the tip, along the edge and on the hook, exposing bare metal.

The red coat is intact over the whole blade, including the tip, the hook and the serrations. Stripes have crisp borders and the glossy surface reflects light evenly. In game the knife looks exactly like the preview, with no silver showing through the red. The wooden handle looks the same in every grade.

What to look at before you buy

• Look at the stripe layout on the blade, since the shape and placement of light and dark areas differ between copies.
• Check how much grey and silver shows near the spine, as some buyers prefer a cleaner red blade.
• Inspect the tip and the cutting edge, where the red coat wears through first.
• Within a wear grade, a lower float means fewer scratches on the tip and hook.
