Skin overview

★ Karambit | Doppler (Ruby) is a curved claw-shaped knife whose blade and finger ring are coated in a deep red candy finish with lighter pink marbling. In Factory New the coating has no visible marks, so the red stays even and glossy from the spine to the tip. This is the grade for a buyer who wants the phase colour exactly as it was applied.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The blade is covered in a candy-coated red finish with a marbled texture: deeper crimson along the edge and spine, with a lighter pink and magenta area spreading across the middle of the blade. The finger ring repeats the same red marbling, which ties the two painted parts of the knife together. The grip is left in dark grey textured material with finger grooves and is not affected by the phase colour. The marbling varies from copy to copy, so some blades show more of the light pink zone and others look more uniformly dark red. On worn copies the coating goes first at the blade tip, along the sharpened edge and on the outer rim of the finger ring, where small silver marks show through the red.

In Factory New the red coating is complete on the blade, the tip and the finger ring. The marbling and the transition from deep red to pink read clearly, without breaks in the colour. In game, in the inspect view and on draw, the blade looks smooth and glossy. The grey grip shows no difference between grades either way.

Factory New quality — float range 0–0.07

The whole float range of ★ Karambit | Doppler Ruby is 0–0.08; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (88% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • Compare how much light pink marbling the blade shows versus deep red, since the pattern differs between copies and buyers often have a preference.
  • Look at the tip and the cutting edge in the inspect view, as these are the first places where marks appear.
  • Check the outer rim of the finger ring, which carries the same red coating and can show early scuffs.
  • See where the float sits within the wear range, because a low float in a grade keeps the tip cleaner.

Who should buy Factory New

  • Collectors who want the Ruby phase with no marks on the tip or the ring.
  • Players who inspect their knife often and want the red to look even up close.
  • Conclusion: the choice for those who care about a fully clean coating.
