Skin overview

This knife keeps the recognisable Case Hardened mix of blue, purple and gold, set against a black ribbed grip. In Well-Worn the colours look more muted and scuffs are visible on the edge, tip and spine. The overall patina still reads from a normal distance, so the knife keeps its character.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

How the skin looks in Well-Worn

The blade carries the main patina: irregular patches of blue and purple flow into warm gold and yellow, with darker tones along the spine and near the guard. The serrated spine teeth and the cutout near the tip catch the light and break up the pattern.

Wear spreads from the edge and tip deeper into the blade, and the colours look duller overall. The spine teeth and the raised parts of the guard show clear scuffs. From normal distance the pattern is still recognisable but less vivid. The area of the blade closer to the guard holds colour best.

Well-Worn wear: float 0.38–0.45

The float of ★ M9 Bayonet | Case Hardened ranges from 0 to 1; the Well-Worn quality covers 0.38–0.45 — 7% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • The pattern matters most on this skin, so check how much blue covers the blade and the side you see in game.
  • Look at the float position within the wear range, since cleaner copies keep stronger colour on the tip and edge.
  • Inspect the tip, cutting edge and spine teeth, as these parts lose colour first.
  • Check whether there is a name tag and whether it suits the knife.

Who should buy Well-Worn

  • Players who want this knife mainly for play and accept muted colours.
  • Buyers who prefer a used, darker look on the steel.
  • Conclusion: a practical entry into this finish.
