Skin overview

The Scorched pattern is built on muted, blurred shades with no sharp lines, so small marks hide easily in it. A Minimal Wear copy shows the same smoky blade as a fresh one, with only faint traces on the very tip and edge. For most buyers it reads the same as Factory New at a lower grade.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The blade is covered in soft spray-painted patches of charcoal, mid-grey and off-white that blend into each other without hard borders. Lighter areas gather near the spine and along the cutting edge, while darker smoky bands run through the middle and towards the tip, around the long fuller groove.

Tiny specks of bare metal may appear on the tip and in spots along the cutting edge. The rest of the blade keeps its full smoky pattern, and the blurred design hides most of these marks. At normal viewing distance it is hard to tell apart from Factory New. The fuller, guard and handle remain clean.

What to check before buying

  • Look at where the float sits within the wear grade, since the cutting edge and tip show the difference first.
  • Compare inspect screenshots, because the placement of the dark and light patches varies between copies.
  • Check whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag, if either matters to you.
  • On Field-Tested and more worn copies, check how much paint is left around the fuller and on the blade flat.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a near-clean look without paying for the top grade.
  • Buyers who know the blurred pattern hides small marks well.
  • A practical alternative to Factory New with almost the same in-game look.
