Overview

★ Butterfly Knife in its vanilla form carries no painted finish, only the knife's own polished steel blade and dark handles. The look is plain and recognisable: a bright clip-point blade, black skeletonised handle halves and grey inserts along their length. With no finish there is no wear grade, so every copy looks the same and the choice comes down to the knife model and its flip animations.

This is the vanilla Butterfly Knife: the unpainted look of the item in CS2. Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

The same quality also exists as the regular version.

How the skin looks

The blade is bare steel with a curved clip point, a mirror-like polish along the edge and a faint brushed texture near the tip. The spine close to the pivot has a short row of serrations, and a small curved kicker sits under the blade base.

Origin of the skin

It is the rare special item of Operation Breakout Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 23, 2014) — knives and gloves drop far less often than the regular contents.
