Skin overview
In Field-Tested, ★ Butterfly Knife | Slaughter still shows its red zebra-stripe blade clearly, but the candy coat starts to give way along the edge and tip. Patches of bare metal break the red near the cutting line, which adds a used, working look to the knife. The handles and the main body of the blade stay largely intact, since the float range of this skin ends early.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.
How the skin looks in Field-Tested
The blade carries the main artwork: angular zebra stripes in several shades of red, from bright tomato to a darker wine tone, all under a glossy candy coat that lets the metallic base shine through. A lighter silver strip runs along the edge and spine, separating the red field from the steel.
The coat wears away more noticeably at the tip and along the edge, leaving uneven silver patches that cut into the nearest stripes. Light scuffing may reach the spine close to the pivot. The middle of the blade keeps most of its red stripes, and the handles stay largely clean. In game the damage is visible mainly during inspects, while the overall red look still dominates.
Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.26
The whole float range of ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Slaughter is 0.01–0.26; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.26 segment (44% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.
Origin of the skin
It is the rare special item of Operation Breakout Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 23, 2014) — knives and gloves drop far less often than the regular contents.

What to look at before you buy
- Look at where the stripes fall on the blade, because the pattern placement differs between copies and some layouts are valued more by collectors.
- Check the tip and the cutting edge first, as that is where bare metal appears on worn copies.
- Compare float within the wear range, since a low float in Field-Tested can look close to Minimal Wear.
- Decide whether you need StatTrak™, as the skin exists in that version too.
Who the Field-Tested quality suits
- Budget-minded buyers who want a red butterfly knife without paying for a clean finish.
- Players who like a slightly used look on the edge and tip.
- A practical way into this skin, especially with a low float in the range.
