Skin overview

Crimson Web on the Gut Knife is defined by its red surface and black web lines spreading over the blade. In Field-Tested the paint starts to chip along the spine, the hook and the area near the handle, letting bare steel show through. The web is still readable, but the red looks less uniform than on cleaner grades.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The blade, including the gut hook on the spine, is painted red with a black spider-web hydrographic and a semi-gloss topcoat. The serrated section of the spine and the bolster area near the handle carry the same red finish.

Chips of bare steel show along the spine, the gut hook and the base of the blade near the bolster. The edge wear from cleaner grades becomes more visible. In game the knife still reads as red with a web, though the surface looks patchier. The middle of the blade usually keeps most of its pattern.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since a lower value keeps more red on the spine and hook.
  • Look at the web placement on the blade, as the number and position of webs differ between copies.
  • Inspect the gut hook, spine and blade base, because the paint chips there first.
  • Note whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it has a name tag.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want the Crimson Web look for everyday use.
  • Buyers fine with chipping on the spine and hook.
  • Conclusion: a practical middle ground between look and wear.
