Skin overview

This Survival Knife carries the forest version of the DDPAT digital camouflage: a mix of sand, earth brown and green squares on the blade and a solid green composite handle. In Minimal Wear the pattern still reads as clean, and any marks sit on the very edge and tip where they are hard to spot. For most buyers this grade looks nearly the same as Factory New in hand.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The blade is covered from tip to guard in a digital camouflage of sand, light brown, dark brown and green square blocks, including the area around the long slot cut through the blade. The gut hook near the tip and the serrated section by the guard are painted in the same pattern, with the serration teeth showing steel at their points.

Small specks of wear may appear on the cutting edge and the very tip, usually only visible on inspection. The serration teeth can show slightly more steel than on a Factory New copy. The rest of the blade and the whole handle stay clean. At normal viewing distance the knife looks practically new.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of ★ Survival Knife | Forest DDPAT is 0.06–0.8; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

• Check where the float sits inside the wear grade, since a low float in Field-Tested or Well-Worn keeps noticeably more paint on the tip and edge.
• Inspect the cutting edge, the tip, the gut hook and the serrations, as these lose paint first.
• The pattern placement shifts between copies but has little effect on the look of this camouflage, so it rarely needs to be a priority.
• Look for a name tag and decide whether you want a StatTrak™ version, as both change which copy fits you.
