Skin overview

Spalted Wood is a muted, earthy finish: brown streaked wood on the body and grip, a lighter amber magazine and a plain dark upper. In Field-Tested the grain is still the main impression, but rubbed patches start to show on the magazine, the grip and the corners of the stock. Because the pattern itself looks aged, light wear tends to suit the theme rather than spoil it.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The receiver's lower body and the stock carry a brown hydrographic print of streaked, dried wood with dark veins running lengthwise. The barrel, top rail, scope and upper receiver are left in plain dark gunmetal, so the wood is framed by metal.

Rubbed areas show on the magazine edges and bottom, on the foregrip and on the corners and rear of the stock. Some grey base breaks through the grain there, while the central body remains mostly intact. At normal distance the rifle still reads as wood-bodied, with the wear blending into the aged pattern. The metal upper and the middle of the stock stay fairly clean.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of AUG | Spalted Wood is 0–0.48; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (48% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Souvenir version

Which stickers suit it

Brown, gold, beige and black stickers match the wood grain and the dark upper. Placements on the side of the stock or the receiver near the rail sit well against the plain areas without breaking the pattern.

What to check before buying

  • Check the float position within the wear, since early and late copies of the same grade differ noticeably on the magazine and stock edges.
  • Inspect the magazine and foregrip first, as these lose the print before the rest of the rifle.
  • Souvenir copies come with fixed stickers, so make sure their look suits you before buying.
  • Look for applied stickers or a name tag on regular copies and decide whether they add anything for you.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who like the aged theme and don't mind light wear.
  • Budget-minded buyers who still want the grain to read clearly in game.
  • Conclusion: good value with a fitting weathered feel.
