AWP | Desert Hydra (Minimal Wear)

Skin overview

The rifle pairs a warm orange body covered in a gold serpent motif with white upper parts and a white butt stock. At Minimal Wear the finish still reads as new from a normal viewing distance, and any marks are small and sit on the edges. It gives almost the full Factory New look at a lower grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The receiver and stock body are painted a warm orange-red, covered with gold snakes whose bodies twist across the side panels and the grip. The barrel, scope and rear of the butt stock are finished in white with a warm cream tint, and the muzzle area carries engraved snake details.

Small specks of wear can appear on the edges of the stock and the tip of the barrel. The white parts may carry a faint trace of grime that is hard to see without zooming in. At normal distance the rifle reads the same as Factory New. The snake pattern and the scope stay clean.

Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15

The float of AWP | Desert Hydra ranges from 0 to 0.6; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.15 — 13% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Gold, holo gold and warm red or orange stickers blend well with the snake motif on the body. White or cream stickers placed towards the front of the receiver continue the pale barrel colour, while cold blues and greens tend to clash with the scheme.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since the white barrel and scope show grime quickly as the value rises.
• Look at the edges of the stock, the magazine and the muzzle, as these lose paint first.
• Souvenir copies come with pre-applied stickers, so check whether they suit the orange and white scheme.
• Review any stickers or name tag already on the rifle before buying.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

• Players who want a near-new look without paying for the top grade.
• Sticker crafters, since small edge marks rarely show under stickers.
• A balanced pick that looks clean in game for less.
