She is not only an expert in human aquatic potential but also an elite marksman and soldier. Interestingly, her nickname 'Goggles' was given to her after she narrowly avoided a bullet that was aimed at her left eye, thanks to her teammate 'Wet Sox' who reminded her to carry her full kit. Cmdr. Fernandez's achievements include being awarded The Navy Cross for her exemplary performance during classified underwater operations.
