Skin overview

Gauss turns the MP5-SD into a piece of machined hardware: a graphite body, a vented silencer and warm copper stripes on the magazine and grip. In Minimal Wear the finish reads almost exactly like a clean copy, and any marks hide on the edges, where the dark metal look forgives them. The buyer gets nearly the full Factory New picture at a lower grade.

Item type: smg. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver and handguard are painted in dark graphite gunmetal with fine engraved grooves and panel lines that imitate stamped steel plates. The integrated silencer carries the same dark tone with a ribbed, vented front section and thin teal and copper accents along its length.

Faint scuffs may appear on the silencer tip and the sharpest ribs of the magazine. They are small and mostly visible only up close in the inspect view. At normal distance the gun reads the same as a Factory New copy. The receiver texture, grip and teal accents stay clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of MP5-SD | Gauss is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

This skin has a the StatTrak™ version with a kill counter. Right now it is 1.7× dearer than the regular one. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Copper, orange, gold and teal stickers match the existing accents, while holo or foil stickers in warm tones echo the metallic look. The flat dark side of the receiver above the grip is the cleanest spot for placement.

What to check before buying

• Look at the ribs of the magazine and the grip in the inspect view, since the copper there shows wear first.
• Check the silencer tip and the upper receiver edges for rubbed spots, especially near the top of a wear range.
• Compare float positions within the same wear, because a low float in Field-Tested can look close to Minimal Wear.
• Check applied stickers and any name tag, as they change how the clean dark receiver reads.
