Skin overview

Battle-Scarred MP9 | Black Sand is the most weathered version of this camo, with large worn areas on the receiver, muzzle and magazine. The dark base and remaining tan patches still give the overall tan-and-black look. It is the grade for those who like a battered, heavily used weapon.

Item type: smg. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The upper receiver carries the main camo: tan blotches with partly stepped edges over a dark olive-black base, with thin orange lines running along its length and a round emblem near the rear. The barrel shroud and muzzle stay dark, with a small orange accent at the front.

Large worn areas cover the top of the receiver, the muzzle, the magazine and the stock edges. Many blotch edges are blurred and the orange lines are heavily broken. In game the weapon reads as darker and more uniform, with tan patches still visible. The central parts of the receiver sides hold the most paint.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The whole float range of MP9 | Black Sand is 0–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (55% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Origin of the skin

What it costs in each quality

By price this skin is 10th of 14 skins Mil-Spec Grade MP9 in this quality (the first being the dearest).

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

There is also a the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon tracks kills. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in tan, orange, olive or black tones blend with the camo without breaking it. Placements on the receiver sides work best, while a single bright accent can echo the orange lines.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at where the float sits within the wear range, as lower floats keep the top of the receiver cleaner.
  • Inspect the muzzle, the magazine base and the stock edges, since these lose paint first.
  • Check that the orange lines along the receiver are unbroken if you want a crisp look.
  • Note any applied stickers or name tag, as they change the look of the camo.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Budget entry for anyone who simply wants this skin on their MP9.
  • Players who like a heavily battered, darker weapon look.
  • Conclusion: the most weathered version, chosen for its character rather than cleanliness.
