Skin overview

Morning Sun turns the Nova into a sand-coloured, ornamented shotgun with a dark brown barrel. In Battle-Scarred the light paint is heavily scratched across the receiver, pump and stock, and much of the fine pattern is broken up. It suits players who want the colour of the skin and like a rough, battered look.

Item type: shotgun. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The receiver, pump grip and stock are painted a pale sand-cream colour and covered with a dense, engraved-style ornament of thin curling lines. The pump grip has deep horizontal ribs that catch light and shadow, while the stock and receiver carry the finest part of the pattern.

Heavy scratches cover the receiver, pump grip and stock, and large parts of the ornament are gone. The light paint shows wear almost everywhere, including the middle of the stock. In game the skin reads as a battered sand-coloured gun rather than a decorated one. The dark barrel hides wear better and looks the least changed.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1

The float of Nova | Morning Sun ranges from 0 to 1; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–1 — 55% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Nova | Morning Sun belongs to The Arabesque Collection, which holds 17 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Souvenir version

There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, beige, brown and cream stickers blend well with the sand finish and the ornament. Dark or matte stickers placed on the receiver work as a calm accent against the light body, while bright saturated colours tend to clash with the warm palette.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since the light paint shows scratches more clearly than darker finishes.
  • Look at the pump ribs and receiver edges first, as they wear before the rest of the weapon.
  • Inspect the stock to see how much of the fine ornament is still intact.
  • Note any applied stickers or name tag and whether they fit the sand colour scheme.

Who should buy Battle-Scarred

  • Players who like a rough, battered look on their shotgun.
  • The lowest-cost way to own the skin.
  • Choose it for the character of the wear rather than the ornament.
