Nova | Ocular (Factory New)

Skin overview

Nova | Ocular is a Restricted shotgun finish built from simple geometric shapes and staring stylised eyes, inspired by abstract surrealism. In Factory New the orange irises, cream stripes and deep teal base stay crisp, so every eye on the receiver and stock reads cleanly. This is the grade for a buyer who wants the artwork exactly as painted.

Item type: shotgun. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Factory New

The barrel and magazine tube are painted in a teal-blue gradient, with a halftone dot pattern fading in near the dark muzzle and an orange ring at the tip. The pump is wrapped in ribbed cream bands with dark outlines, giving it a sculpted, almost organic look. The receiver carries swirling teal shapes with stylised eyes in cream and orange, and the stock repeats the motif with curved cream stripes and several large eyes with orange irises. On worn copies the paint goes first on the raised pump ribs, the muzzle and the top of the barrel, then on the receiver edges and the lower edge and heel of the stock.

The finish is fully intact: the halftone dots on the barrel, the outlines of the pump bands and the fine lines around each eye are sharp. Colours stay saturated, with a clear contrast between teal, cream and orange. In game the pattern looks clean from any angle. Nothing on the receiver or stock shows wear.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in teal, cream or orange match the palette and blend well with the artwork. Holo or eye-themed designs placed on the receiver or along the barrel echo the surrealist motif without covering the main eyes.

What to check before buying

• Check the float position within the wear range, since a low float in a worn grade can look noticeably cleaner.
• Inspect the pump ribs and the muzzle first, as these parts lose paint earliest.
• Look at the eyes on the receiver to make sure the key motif is not scratched off.
• Note any stickers or name tag, which can add to the look but are rarely valued above their own cost.

Who should buy Factory New

• Collectors who want the surrealist artwork in its sharpest form.
• Sticker crafters who need a clean base for colour-matched designs.
• The choice for those who value every detail of the painting.
