Skin overview

Rust Coat is built around the look of a working shotgun that has been left out in the weather, and Field-Tested is where that theme starts to show. The dark metal of the barrel and receiver picks up clearer brown patina, while the pump and stock keep their warm colour. It reads as a used, honest tool rather than a showpiece.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The barrel and magazine tube are finished in dark blued steel with a slight sheen. The receiver carries the same dark metal with rust-brown patches spreading over its sides, and the trigger guard stays dark.

Brown patina spreads more clearly over the receiver and starts to reach the rear of the barrel and its edges. The dark metal is still the main colour on the barrel and magazine tube. At normal distance the gun reads as noticeably aged. The forend and stock still look mostly even.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in brown, copper, gold or muted olive tones blend with the rust and wood colours. Placements on the dark receiver or barrel stand out best against the steel, while matte or paper-style stickers suit the weathered theme better than bright holographic ones.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the float within the chosen wear, since the amount of rust on this patina finish changes noticeably across the range.
  • Check the receiver first, because the rust patches appear and spread there before the barrel.
  • Decide whether you want the dark clean look or the heavy rust, as for this skin higher wear is part of the theme rather than just damage.
  • Review any applied stickers and name tag so they fit the aged, earthy colour scheme.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want the ageing theme to be visible but not overwhelming.
  • Budget-minded buyers looking for a balanced middle grade.
  • Conclusion: the middle ground between clean steel and heavy rust.
