Skin overview

SCAR-20 | Sand Mesh is a desert camouflage: a sandy tan base covered with a fine brown mesh pattern that runs over the receiver, magazine, stock and even the scope. In Factory New the stencil lines are sharp and the tan base looks even, with no bare metal showing. This is the neatest version of a simple, practical finish.

Item type: sniper rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Appearance in Factory New

The receiver, handguard rail, magazine, pistol grip and folding stock are all painted in a sandy tan base with a fine brown mesh stencil on top. The scope and its mount carry the same camouflage, so the rifle reads as one even colour block. The barrel and muzzle device stay dark and unpainted, giving the only strong contrast on the weapon. On worn copies the paint chips first on the rail edges, the scope tube, the front of the receiver, the bottom of the magazine and the edges of the stock, where dark metal shows through.

The camouflage is intact on every part, and the mesh stencil keeps crisp lines on the receiver and stock. Copies at the bottom of the range already start from a slightly matte finish, so this grade looks clean rather than glossy. In game the rifle reads as a solid tan weapon with a fine pattern. The rail edges, scope and magazine show no chips.

Factory New quality — float range 0.06–0.07

The float of SCAR-20 | Sand Mesh ranges from 0.06 to 0.8; the Factory New quality covers 0.06–0.07 — 1% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

• Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since low floats in Field-Tested and Well-Worn keep noticeably more paint on the rails and scope.
• Inspect the rail edges, scope tube and magazine bottom, as these parts lose paint first.
• Souvenir copies come with stickers already applied, so decide whether they fit the look you want.
