Skin overview

This wear keeps the full two-tone scheme of rusted copper and cold blue-teal metal that makes Ol' Rusty easy to spot. Small scuffs may sit on sharp edges, but at a glance it reads almost the same as a factory-fresh copy. It suits buyers who want the clean look without paying for the top grade.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The handguard with its long rail sections, the barrel, the scope and the stock are finished in a warm copper-orange tone that imitates rusted steel. The receiver is dark teal and blue-grey, broken up by red-orange rust blotches, and the nickname Ol' Rusty is stamped above the trigger housing.

Light scuffs may appear on the tips of the rail ridges and around the muzzle. The receiver, magazine faces and stock stay clean, and the stamp remains readable. At normal viewing distance in game it is hard to tell apart from Factory New.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of SG 553 | Ol' Rusty is 0–0.7; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in copper, orange, teal or muted blue echo the skin's two-tone scheme, while gold and holographic finishes stand out against the rust. Placements on the receiver and the magazine sit on the cooler teal and blue areas, giving warm-coloured stickers more contrast.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade keep noticeably more colour on the rails.
  • Look at the rail ridges, muzzle and magazine edges, as these show wear first.
  • Make sure the Ol' Rusty stamp above the trigger housing is readable if that detail matters to you.
  • Review applied stickers and any name tag, because they change the look and are not removed for free.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a near-new look at a step below the top grade.
  • Sticker crafters happy with tiny edge scuffs that are invisible in game.
  • A sensible balance between appearance and cost.
