This AK-47 stands out through its gold-painted metal and the hand-painted arabesque covering the stock and handguard. Well-Worn copies show clear loss of gold on the edges of the receiver and magazine, and the ornament begins to thin on the most exposed areas. Appearance in Well-Worn

The receiver, barrel, gas tube, front sight and the curved magazine are painted in a uniform olive-gold tone with subtle filigree accents on the metal. The handguard and the stock carry a hand-painted arabesque: a dense lattice of cells and loops in pale pink, cream and brown that resembles carved lace.

The gold is clearly worn through along all edges of the receiver and magazine, and patches spread onto flat surfaces. The ornament on the stock and handguard loses detail on the exposed areas and looks thinned. In game the rifle still reads as gold, but the wear on the magazine is obvious. The central part of the stock is usually the best-preserved area.
