Souvenir AK-47 | VariCamo Grey (Battle-Scarred)

Skin overview

AK-47 | VariCamo Grey in Battle-Scarred is the roughest take on this grey camouflage. Large areas of the magazine, handguard and receiver edges lose paint, giving the rifle a worn, salvaged character. Because the base pattern is already grey, the damage blends in more calmly than on bright finishes.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The hydrographic VariCamo pattern covers the entire AK-47: receiver, dust cover, handguard, pistol grip, stock and magazine. It is made of small irregular patches of light grey, mid grey and dark olive grey on a dark base, giving a dense, slightly pixelated texture.

Large worn areas cover the magazine and the handguard, and the receiver edges and front sight are largely stripped. The stock and grip carry clear scratches and rubbed patches. In game the rifle reads as a rough, battered weapon with patchy camouflage. Remains of the pattern survive mainly on the flat sides of the stock and receiver.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.672

The float of Souvenir AK-47 | VariCamo Grey ranges from 0 to 0.672; the Battle-Scarred quality covers 0.45–0.672 — 33% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

Souvenir AK-47 | VariCamo Grey belongs to The Boreal Collection, which holds 29 skins. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.

Price by quality

Among 6 skins of the AK-47 in the Industrial Grade grade and this quality, this skin ranks 3rd by price, counting from the dearest.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

The neutral grey camouflage works as a backdrop for almost any sticker, with bright red, orange or gold stickers standing out the most. Placing them on the receiver side or the magazine gives strong contrast, while matte olive or black stickers keep the military look.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since the magazine edges show wear first.
• The camouflage has no pattern variations worth paying extra for, so compare copies by float and condition.
• On Souvenir copies, look at the applied stickers and how they fit the grey finish.
• Look for a name tag or extra stickers that may change the look of a plain finish.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

• Players looking for the cheapest way to replace the default AK-47.
• Fans of a rough, battered look on a grey finish.
• Conclusion: a budget entry for those who do not mind heavy wear.
