Skin overview

The Man-o'-war pairs a dark blue anodized body with ornate gold accents, giving the AWP a look closer to an engraved collector's piece than a camouflage. Field-Tested copies of this skin sit near the clean end of that grade, so the overall blue-and-gold scheme still reads clearly. Light scuffs show mostly on edges and protruding parts.

Item type: sniper rifle. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Anodized Multicolored: several colours in the metal coating; it wears little, the colours only dull with use.

Other qualities of this skin: Minimal Wear. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The receiver and the body of the stock are covered in metallic blue, overlaid with flowing gold swirls and accents that run from the scope mount back to the butt. The grip area and the cheek of the stock carry the densest gold pattern, with a few lighter blue highlights mixed in.

Field-Tested adds visible scuffs along the edges of the receiver, the lower line of the stock and the raised parts around the grip, where small patches of metal show through. The blue looks slightly duller in those spots, while the gold pattern on the flat surfaces stays readable. In game the rifle still reads as blue and gold, and the wear is noticeable mainly when inspecting up close. The flat sides of the stock and the central gold motifs remain largely intact.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.2

The whole float range of Souvenir AWP | Man-o'-war is 0.1–0.2; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.2 segment (50% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

Souvenir AWP | Man-o'-war belongs to The Chroma Collection, which holds 14 skins.

It drops from Chroma Case (on sale since Jan 8, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, holo and foil stickers echo the gold swirls and suit the receiver well. Dark blue or black-and-gold designs keep the look cohesive, while bright red or green tends to break the scheme.

What to check before buying

  • Look at where the float sits within the grade, since a low value keeps the edges noticeably cleaner.
  • Inspect the grip area and the bottom edge of the stock, where paint wears off first.
  • Check whether applied stickers suit the blue and gold scheme or clash with it.
  • Note any name tag, as it changes how the item is listed and may not suit every buyer.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want the blue and gold look in game for less than the cleaner grade.
  • Buyers who rarely inspect the rifle up close and care about the overall look.
  • Conclusion: a sensible entry point, since wear stays light within this skin's range.
