Skin overview

Death Grip is one of the more unsettling P90 finishes, with a crowd of hands that seems to clutch the whole body of the gun. In Field-Tested the pale print starts to lose sharpness at the muzzle, the grip loop and the rear of the stock, where grey metal shows through. The motif is still easy to read, and the scuffs suit its grim theme.

Item type: smg. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

How the skin looks in Field-Tested

The hydrographic print of overlapping hands covers almost the whole P90: the barrel shroud, the main body, the thumbhole grip loop and the rounded stock. The hands are drawn in off-white and light grey with thin dark outlines, and the blue base shows through in the gaps between fingers and palms.

Noticeable scuffs appear on the muzzle, the front edges of the body, the inner rim of the grip loop and the lower edge of the stock. On those spots the hand outlines soften and grey metal shows through, while the blue looks slightly duller. The large side panels still hold most of the print. In game the P90 reads as lightly used, with the pattern clearly recognisable.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of Souvenir P90 | Death Grip is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

The skin’s collection is The Operation Hydra Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Hydra Case.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in blue, white, grey or black blend with the cold palette of the hands. A single dark or holo sticker on the flat side of the body stands out well against the pale print, while bright warm colours give deliberate contrast. Keeping stickers off the grip loop leaves the most recognisable part of the pattern visible.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the grade, since lower values keep the muzzle and grip loop cleaner.
  • Inspect the inner rim of the grip loop and the muzzle, the first places the pale print rubs off.
  • The hand pattern is spread fairly evenly, so condition matters more than placement, but look at the side panel on inspect to be sure you like it.
  • Look at applied stickers and a name tag, since they stay with the item and change its look.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want a recognisable P90 for everyday matches.
  • Buyers who think light scuffs suit the grim hand motif.
  • A reasonable middle ground for play.
