Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the most weathered take on Sawed-Off | Rust Coat, where the gun looks like it has spent years in the open. Rust and patina dominate the metal parts and only traces of the original dark finish remain. For this skin the heavy ageing matches the theme, so the worst grade is also the most expressive one.

Item type: shotgun. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Industrial Grade is the second tier from the bottom: common skins from drops and collections.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

Appearance in Battle-Scarred

The barrel and magazine tube are finished in dark blued steel with a slight sheen. The receiver carries the same dark metal with rust-brown patches spreading over its sides, and the trigger guard stays dark.

Rust and patina dominate the receiver, barrel and magazine tube, with only traces of dark steel left. The edges and raised parts look the most aged. At normal distance the whole gun reads as one rusty brown shape. The forend and stock remain the most uniform parts of the weapon.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of Souvenir Sawed-Off | Rust Coat is 0–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (44% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Stickers in brown, copper, gold or muted olive tones blend with the rust and wood colours. Placements on the dark receiver or barrel stand out best against the steel, while matte or paper-style stickers suit the weathered theme better than bright holographic ones.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the float within the chosen wear, since the amount of rust on this patina finish changes noticeably across the range.
  • Check the receiver first, because the rust patches appear and spread there before the barrel.
  • Decide whether you want the dark clean look or the heavy rust, as for this skin higher wear is part of the theme rather than just damage.
  • Review any applied stickers and name tag so they fit the aged, earthy colour scheme.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

  • Players who want the most weathered and expressive version of the theme.
  • An affordable entry for those who just want the skin in their inventory.
  • Conclusion: the grade where the heavy wear suits the skin best.
