Souvenir SCAR-20 | Grotto (Minimal Wear)

Skin overview

Grotto turns the SCAR-20 into a deep blue rifle with a sponge-painted metallic texture and glowing cyan edging on the upper rail. In Minimal Wear the finish keeps almost all of its depth, and any marks are confined to a few sharp corners. For most buyers it looks the same as a fresh copy in a match while costing less to own.

Item type: sniper rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the StatTrak™ version.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The receiver and handguard are painted dark navy and covered in a sponged, brush-worked layer of metallic blue and teal that forms an uneven, cave-like texture. Bright cyan edging runs along the top rail and the edges of the handguard, giving the rifle a cold, glowing outline.

Small specks of wear may appear on the sharpest corners of the top rail and the front of the handguard. The main sponged texture is untouched. At normal viewing distance the difference from Factory New is barely noticeable, and the cyan trim still looks bright.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The float of Souvenir SCAR-20 | Grotto ranges from 0 to 0.5; the Minimal Wear quality covers 0.07–0.15 — 16% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

The skin’s collection is The Chroma Collection with 14 skins in total.

It drops from Chroma Case (on sale since Jan 8, 2015).

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Stickers in blue, teal, cyan or silver blend well with the metallic sponged paint and the bright edging. Holo or foil stickers with cool tones placed on the receiver repeat the metallic effect, while dark or black designs keep the look restrained.

What to check before buying

• Check where the float sits within the wear grade, as lower values keep the cyan rail edging intact longer.
• Look at the top rail and handguard corners in inspect, since these parts lose paint first.
• Pay attention to stickers and name tags, which can change how well the blue scheme looks.
• Decide whether you want a StatTrak™ or Souvenir copy, as both versions exist for this skin.
