Show allAllSkin overview
Tornado reduces the SG 553 to two flat colours: tan on the receiver and blue-grey on the rest of the rifle. In Field-Tested the paint begins to chip along edges and raised details, and the darker base shows through most clearly on the light receiver. The rifle still reads as tan and grey from any normal distance, now with a used, working look.
Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Terrorist side. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.
Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.
Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.
How the skin looks in Field-Tested
The receiver and trigger area are painted a flat sand tan, the only warm colour on the rifle. The railed handguard, magazine, pistol grip and skeletal stock are sprayed a matte slate grey with a slight blue cast, and the scope housing follows the same grey tones, while the barrel and muzzle stay dark.
Chipping becomes visible along the rail ribs, the magwell edges, the base of the magazine and the edges of the receiver. On the tan receiver dark spots start to show near the joints and raised details. At normal distance the rifle still reads clearly as tan and grey, with a lightly used texture. Flat areas of the stock and grip mostly keep their paint.
Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38
The whole float range of Souvenir SG 553 | Tornado is 0.06–0.8; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (31% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.
Origin of the skin
The skin’s collection is The Assault Collection with 7 skins in total. It does not drop from a case: the collection has none — such skins come from operation drops, souvenir packages or the market.
What it costs in each quality
Taking Field-Tested as the baseline, Minimal Wear — 7.8× dearer. Based on the cheapest SkinOut.gg listing of each quality, otherwise on the market reference.
Among 7 skins of the SG 553 in the Consumer Grade grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.
Souvenir version
This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.
Stickers and crafts
Muted stickers in tan, olive, brown or grey blend with the colour scheme, while a single orange or warm gold accent works well against the slate handguard. Placements on the grey parts stand out more than on the tan receiver, so a clean sticker on the handguard or magazine tends to read best.
What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the chosen grade, since copies at the clean end of a grade look noticeably better on the tan receiver.
- Look at the receiver first, because chips on the light tan paint are the most visible part of the wear.
- Inspect the rail ribs and the magazine base, which lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
- Pattern does not change this solid-colour finish, so focus on float, stickers and name tag instead.
Who should buy Field-Tested
- Players who simply want a skin on their T-side SG 553 at a low cost.
- Fans of a lightly used, working-rifle look.
- A balanced middle ground between look and budget.
