Souvenir SSG 08 | Prey (Battle-Scarred)

Skin overview

Battle-Scarred is the most worn version of Prey, where the spray paint is heavily stripped from the raised parts and edges. The zebra stripes survive mainly on flat panels of the handguard and stock, giving the rifle a patchy, scavenged look. It suits players who prefer a rugged weapon over a tidy one.

Item type: sniper rifle. Consumer Grade is the lowest tier of the rarity scale: the most common skins, most often used in trade-up contracts.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The finish uses a reddish-brown rust base with irregular pale grey and darker zebra-like stripes. The stripes run across the long handguard, the receiver, the scope body and the skeletal stock, including the cheek rest and grip.

Paint is heavily stripped from the scope, the receiver top, all handguard edges and much of the stock. The remaining stripes sit in patches on the flat sides. In game the rifle looks mottled, with as much bare metal as rust colour on the parts closest to the view. Only the most protected flat areas keep the original look.

Souvenir version

This is the Souvenir version: such copies dropped to tournament viewers in souvenir packages; the team stickers and signatures on them cannot be removed or chosen. Souvenir items never carry StatTrak™. There is also the regular version without tournament stickers.

Stickers and crafts

Warm browns, rust reds, beige and muted gold stickers blend with the striped base, while dark or black stickers stand out against it. Placements on the handguard flat panels sit on the most readable part of the pattern.

What to look at before you buy

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low float in a grade can look close to the next cleaner one.
• Look at the scope rings and handguard edges first, as they lose paint before the rest of the rifle.
• Souvenir copies come with pre-applied stickers, so check whether you want them on the rifle.
• Inspect any applied stickers or name tag in the screenshot, because they change how the striped finish reads.

Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits

• Players who prefer a heavily worn, scavenged look.
• The cheapest entry for anyone who just wants this skin in the loadout.
• Choose it if character matters more than clean paint.
