Skin overview

Parallax pairs a black base with scattered red and cyan specks and striped grey panels on the stock. In Minimal Wear the finish looks almost identical to a fresh copy, and any marks sit on the muzzle and outer edges where they are hard to spot. It is a way to get the full offset look without paying for the cleanest grade.

Item type: sniper rifle. Restricted sits in the middle of the rarity scale: noticeably rarer than Mil-Spec, yet not truly rare.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred. The same quality also exists as the Souvenir version.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The barrel, receiver and handguard are finished in near-black with small red and cyan marks placed slightly out of line, which creates the offset, double-image effect. The receiver side carries white inserts and small light markings that break up the dark surface.

Small scuffs can appear on the muzzle and on the sharpest edges of the receiver. The coloured marks and stock stripes look the same as on a fresh copy. In game the difference from Factory New is practically invisible. The receiver sides and stock surface stay clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of StatTrak™ SSG 08 | Parallax is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Stickers in red, cyan, white or black match the scattered marks and the dark base. Glitch-style or holographic stickers along the receiver side or barrel echo the offset effect, while bright warm colours outside the palette tend to clash.

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, because the light stock stripes show scuffing earlier than the dark base.
• Inspect the muzzle and barrel edges, as these lose paint first.
• Look at the stock in inspect mode to see how much contrast the stripes have kept.
• Note any stickers or name tag already applied and whether they suit the red and cyan scheme.
