Remaining largely unchanged in design since its use in World War II, the bayonet remains a relevant tool in modern military tactics. As evidenced in conflicts such as the Gulf War and in Afghanistan, bayonet charges have proven to be effective. Its appearance is enhanced with black and silver metallic paints that are applied using a marbleizing medium. The bayonet is finished with a candy coating in three different colors.
