The karambit knife was created as a weapon for the martial art form of silat found in southeast Asia. Its blade, resembling a tiger's claw, has a curved shape. Usually, it is used with a reverse grip, and the index finger is placed through the finger ring. The knife has been given a unique look using black and silver metallic paints and a marbleizing technique, which was then finished with a candy coating.
