Skin overview

This is the grade where Scorched starts to look like a used field knife: bare steel comes through along the cutting edge and spine. The soot-like patches are still clearly readable across the middle of the blade, and the olive-and-black handle keeps its look. It suits players who like a knife with some visible history.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The blade is covered in soft spray-painted patches of charcoal, mid-grey and off-white that blend into each other without hard borders. Lighter areas gather near the spine and along the cutting edge, while darker smoky bands run through the middle and towards the tip, around the long fuller groove.

A thin line of bare steel runs along the cutting edge, and the tip and spine show noticeable scuffs. Light scratches start to break up the paint around the fuller rims. In game the smoky pattern is still clearly visible in the centre of the blade, with a worn metal outline around it. The olive grip rings may show slight rubbing on their raised parts.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

What to check before buying

  • Look at where the float sits within the wear grade, since the cutting edge and tip show the difference first.
  • Compare inspect screenshots, because the placement of the dark and light patches varies between copies.
  • Check whether the copy is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag, if either matters to you.
  • On Field-Tested and more worn copies, check how much paint is left around the fuller and on the blade flat.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who want the pattern clearly visible at a moderate cost.
  • Fans of a used field-knife look with bare steel on the edge.
  • A balanced middle ground between appearance and budget.
