Skin overview

A Gut Knife with a dark weathered blade and a layered laminate grip, this skin suits a worn condition better than most finishes. In Well-Worn the blade picks up lighter scratched areas that give it a rough, field-used look. The silhouette with the gut hook and the handle grain stay as recognisable as ever.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The blade is dark grey with a mottled stonewashed texture across the whole flat, a bevel line running down to the tip and the gut hook cut into the spine. A row of jimping sits on the spine near the handle.

Scratched lighter areas spread from the edge and tip across a larger part of the blade flat, and the gut hook looks clearly worn. The spine and jimping start to lose their dark finish. The handle layers lose some contrast, especially at the edges and around the pins. The knife still reads as dark and grey in game, but with a visibly rough blade.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since the stonewashed blade can hide small differences that only show near the edge and tip.
  • Inspect the cutting edge, the gut hook and the tip, as these lose finish first.
  • Look at the contrast of the handle layers on worn copies, because faded grain changes the overall look more than blade scratches do.
  • Note whether the copy is StatTrak™ or carries a name tag, as both are fixed to the item.

Who the Well-Worn quality suits

  • Budget buyers who want a Gut Knife with a recognisable finish.
  • Players who like a rough, field-used look on a dark blade.
  • Conclusion: an affordable way into this knife without losing its character.
