Skin overview

The look stays the same: a claw-shaped stonewashed blade and a striped laminate grip that reads as a calm, utilitarian knife. Minimal Wear allows only faint marks that blend into the already mottled blade, so in hand it is very hard to tell apart from a cleaner copy. It is a sensible way to get a near-pristine Karambit without paying for the top grade.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

How the skin looks in Minimal Wear

The curved blade carries a stonewashed finish in dark steel grey with a mottled, uneven texture and a small marking near its base. The handle is built from laminate layers: pale grey outer bands frame darker grey and near-black inner layers that follow the finger grooves in wavy contours.

Minimal Wear may add faint scuffs on the most raised laminate edges and a few light marks on the blade. These blend into the mottled metal and are barely visible during inspect. The ring and the handle bands still look clean. At normal distance it reads the same as Factory New.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of ★ Karambit | Black Laminate is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since copies near the cleaner end show noticeably less scuffing on the handle.
  • Inspect the finger groove edges and the ring rim, as these are the first places where wear shows on this knife.
  • Look at the blade in close inspect, because the stonewash can hide scratches that become visible from certain angles.
  • Note whether the knife is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag.

Who should buy Minimal Wear

  • Players who want a near-pristine look without paying for the top grade.
  • Buyers who know the stonewash hides light marks well.
  • Conclusion: a practical alternative to Factory New with almost no visible trade-off.
