Skin overview

Field-Tested is where this finish starts to show use, mostly on the handle edges and the ring rather than on the blade, whose stonewash already hides small scratches. The grey and dark laminate bands remain clearly readable, so the knife keeps its workmanlike character. For many players this is the balanced middle of the range.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Gunsmith: several techniques combined on one item; some parts rub off, others only dull.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The curved blade carries a stonewashed finish in dark steel grey with a mottled, uneven texture and a small marking near its base. The handle is built from laminate layers: pale grey outer bands frame darker grey and near-black inner layers that follow the finger grooves in wavy contours.

Field-Tested brings visible scuffing along the edges of the finger grooves and at the back of the grip. The ring rim starts to look worn, and the blade gains more scratches that deepen its rough texture. The inner laminate layers in the centre of the handle remain fairly clean. In game the knife still reads clearly, with wear noticeable mainly in close inspect.

Field-Tested quality — float range 0.15–0.38

The whole float range of ★ Karambit | Black Laminate is 0–1; Field-Tested takes the 0.15–0.38 segment (23% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying

  • Check where the float sits within the wear grade, since copies near the cleaner end show noticeably less scuffing on the handle.
  • Inspect the finger groove edges and the ring rim, as these are the first places where wear shows on this knife.
  • Look at the blade in close inspect, because the stonewash can hide scratches that become visible from certain angles.
  • Note whether the knife is StatTrak™ and whether it carries a name tag.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who want a Karambit for daily use and accept some handle wear.
  • Buyers looking for a balance between look and cost.
  • Conclusion: the balanced middle option for this finish.
