Skin overview
★ Karambit | Stained is a curved Karambit whose polished steel carries a forced patina of cloudy grey and pale blue blotches. In Factory New the mirror shine between the stains is intact, so the contrast between bright metal and smoky marks is at its sharpest. This is the grade for buyers who want the blade to look freshly treated.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Factory New
The curved blade is bare polished steel covered with an irregular patina of smoky grey and pale blue blotches, denser along the spine and lighter toward the edge. The finger ring carries the same stained steel finish, while the grip is a dark grey textured handle with deep finger grooves and serrations along the back. The arrangement of the stains is uneven, so each copy shows its own pattern of marks. On worn copies the tip, the cutting edge and the outer surface of the ring lose their shine first, followed by the flat of the blade.
The blade, tip and ring are fully polished with no visible scratches. The grey-blue stains sit on clean, reflective steel and keep their crisp edges. In game the knife reads bright and high-contrast in the hand at normal distance.
Factory New wear: float 0–0.07
The whole float range of ★ Karambit | Stained is 0–1; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (7% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying
- Look at the inspect view, because the placement and density of the stains differ from copy to copy.
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, as a low float keeps more shine on the blade.
- Examine the tip, the cutting edge and the ring, since they lose polish first.
- Decide whether a StatTrak™ version or a name tag matters to you before comparing offers.
Who should buy Factory New
- Collectors who want the patina on fully polished steel.
- Players who like a bright, high-contrast blade in the hand.
- The choice for those who value the cleanest possible look.
