In Factory New the red stays even and saturated, and the web lines are crisp from the tip to the pivot. Appearance in Factory New

The blade is painted deep red with a thin dark spider-web pattern laid over it by hydrographic print, and the same finish continues onto the front of the handle around the pivot and the small thumb lug. A dark pivot screw and a small pin sit in the red section, while the curved rear grip is a separate plain grey slab with a single screw near its end. The web lines are irregular and run across the blade at different angles, so their placement varies from copy to copy. On worn copies the paint goes first along the cutting edge and at the tip, where bare steel shows through, then on the spine and the raised edges of the red handle section.

The red base and the web lines are intact over the whole blade and the front of the handle. Only the thin bevel of the cutting edge shows the light steel tone seen even on clean copies. In game the knife looks bright and uniform at any distance. The grey grip and the screws look clean.
