In Factory New the purple scales read as one even, saturated colour, and the blade keeps a uniform matte grey tone up to the edge. The blade is painted a dark matte grey, with a slightly lighter bevel along the cutting edge and a darker bolster where it meets the handle. The handle scales are a saturated purple, broken up by a pivot screw, a row of small holes and contoured finger grooves. A dark grey textured insert covers the rear of the grip, and the pommel end is finished in the same dark tone. Paint wears off first at the tip, the cutting edge and the blade spine, then at the outer edges of the purple scales, around the screws and holes and on the finger grooves.

The purple scales and grey blade are fully painted with no exposed metal. The float range does not start at the very bottom, so even the cleanest copies sit slightly above a perfect value, but at this grade that is not visible. In game the knife reads as two clean, even blocks of colour. The tip, edge and handle contours all look untouched.
