Show allAllSkin overview
Blue Steel is recognisable by its dark blue tint on the blade and the plain grey cord on the handle. In Field-Tested the blued surface starts to show light scratches along the edge and tip, which gives the knife a used, working look. It suits the survival theme of the knife rather than working against it.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Field-Tested
The blade is covered in a cold-blued patina that gives it a dark blue to blue-grey tone, slightly lighter along the bevel and darker on the flat. The long slot cutout and the small holes along the spine break up the surface and catch light against the blued steel.
Light scratches become visible along the cutting edge and around the tip, with a few marks near the spine holes. The blue tone on the flat starts to look slightly duller in places. In game the knife still reads as blued steel, with wear noticeable mainly during inspect animations. The middle of the blade flat keeps most of its colour.

What to look at before you buy
- Look at the inspect screenshots, since the patina pattern changes how blue or how dark the blade appears.
- Check where the float sits within the wear grade, as copies near the cleaner end of a grade show fewer scratches on the edge and tip.
- Examine the tip, cutting edge and spine closely, because these parts lose the bluing first.
- Note whether the copy is StatTrak™ or carries a name tag, as both affect what you are paying for.
Who should buy Field-Tested
- Players who want this knife for daily use without paying for a clean grade.
- Buyers who like a slightly worked look that fits a survival knife.
- Conclusion: a practical everyday option.
