Skin overview

In Battle-Scarred the Safari Mesh paint on the blade is heavily scraped, leaving large areas of bare grey steel with only traces of the olive and sand camouflage. The handle and finger ring keep more of the pattern but look faded and scuffed. This grade is about the knife's shape and animations more than the finish itself.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Well-Worn.

How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred

The double-edged dagger blade is covered in a grey-green base with darker olive and lighter sand patches laid down through cardboard stencils, and a fine mesh grid sprayed over the whole surface. A row of round holes runs along the blade toward the large finger ring, which carries the same camouflage.

Most of the blade is scraped down to grey steel, with only patches of olive and sand left near the spine and the ring. The finger ring and the tape bands are heavily scuffed, and the mesh on the handle looks faded. In game the knife reads as a worn metal blade with a camouflaged grip. Only the recesses between the tape bands keep the pattern reasonably intact.

Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–0.8

The whole float range of ★ Skeleton Knife | Safari Mesh is 0.06–0.8; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–0.8 segment (47% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

What to look at before you buy

  • Check where the float sits within the wear range, since a low float in Field-Tested or Well-Worn keeps noticeably more paint on the blade.
  • Look at the cutting edges, the tip and the rims of the holes, as these lose paint first.
  • Pattern placement only shifts the camouflage patches and rarely changes the overall look, so do not overpay for it.
  • Check for a name tag and whether a StatTrak™ counter is present if that matters to you.
