Skin overview

The Safari Mesh finish gives the Bowie Knife a field-camouflage look: khaki-green paint, lighter sandy patches and a honeycomb-like mesh over the blade. In Minimal Wear the stencil still reads clearly, and any marks are limited to tiny spots on the tip and the saw teeth. In hand it looks practically the same as the cleanest grade.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Spray-Paint: paint sprayed over the metal; scratches and scuffs appear early but look natural.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Minimal Wear

The whole knife is spray-painted in khaki and olive green with lighter sandy areas, and a hexagonal mesh stencil runs across the blade like chain-link fencing. The clip-point blade carries the clearest part of the mesh, while the serrated spine and the tip share the same muted tone.

Minimal Wear may show a few tiny light specks on the tip and the points of the saw teeth. The mesh and the colour on the flat of the blade stay intact. In game these marks are hard to notice without inspecting the knife closely. The guard, handle and pommel look clean.

Minimal Wear quality — float range 0.07–0.15

The whole float range of ★ StatTrak™ Bowie Knife | Safari Mesh is 0.06–0.8; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (11% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Origin of the skin

It is the rare special item of Operation Wildfire Case — knives and gloves drop far less often than the regular contents.

What it costs in each quality

Among 23 skins of the Bowie Knife in the Covert grade and this quality, this skin ranks 19th by price, counting from the dearest.

StatTrak™ version

This is the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon shows confirmed kills. There is also the regular version without the counter. Right now the StatTrak™ version is 2.1× dearer than the regular one.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the wear grade, since a low float keeps the tip and spine teeth noticeably cleaner.
  • Inspect the tip, the saw teeth and the ends of the guard, as these lose paint first.
  • Check how much of the mesh remains on the flat of the blade on worn grades.
  • Note whether the knife is StatTrak™ or carries a name tag, since both change what you are paying for.

Who the Minimal Wear quality suits

  • Players who want a clean-looking knife without paying for the top grade.
  • Buyers who will not notice tiny marks on the tip in game.
  • Conclusion: a sensible middle ground between look and cost.
