Skin overview

This Butterfly Knife is recognised by its red blade with a black web and the familiar dark skeletonised handles. In Well-Worn the steel shows through in wide patches along the edge and spine, and the red becomes broken and uneven. The look is rough, but the red-and-black colouring still identifies the skin in game.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

Other qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Well-Worn

The blade is coated in a deep red base with a black spider web hydrographic and a semi-gloss topcoat. The handles are dark grey metal with cut-outs and carry no pattern, and the small latch near the pivot is red.

Steel shows in wide areas along the edge, tip and spine, and scratches spread into the flat of the blade. The red becomes patchy, and parts of the web are lost. In game the blade reads as red with large silver streaks. The handles may show light rubbing on raised parts.

Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45

The float of ★ StatTrak™ Butterfly Knife | Crimson Web ranges from 0.06 to 0.8; the Well-Worn quality covers 0.38–0.45 — 9% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

It drops from Operation Breakout Weapon Case (on sale since Jun 23, 2014) as a rare special item.

Price by quality

Among 18 skins of the Butterfly Knife in the Covert grade and this quality, this skin is the dearest.

StatTrak™ version

This is the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon shows confirmed kills. There is also the regular version without the counter. Right now the StatTrak™ version is 1.7× dearer than the regular one.

What to check before buying

  • Check the web placement on the blade, since a clear, centred web is valued more than scattered lines.
  • Compare the float within the wear range, because the lower end keeps more red on the edge and tip.
  • Inspect the tip, cutting edge and spine, where bare steel shows first.
  • Look for a name tag and the StatTrak™ counter if those matter to you.

Who should buy Well-Worn

  • Players who mainly want the butterfly animations with a red finish.
  • Buyers who do not mind visible steel along the blade.
  • A budget step below Field-Tested that still shows the colours.
