Skin overview

In Field-Tested the black paint on the blade starts to give way to bright steel, and the knife takes on a used, working look. The purple bolster still holds its colour well, so the recognisable accent near the handle remains the focal point. The scuffed blade against the intact purple gives this grade a character of its own.

Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.

Solid Color: a single colour without a pattern; wear dulls it evenly and rubs it off along the edges.

The remaining qualities of this skin: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The curved clip-point blade is painted a flat dark grey that reads almost black. The bolster and the front section of the handle carry a solid block of saturated purple, which breaks the dark silhouette where the hand sits.

The spine and tip show clear patches of bare steel, and light scratches spread across the flat of the blade. The cutting edge starts to lighten, and the raised edges of the handle may show thin silver lines. The purple bolster stays largely intact, perhaps with minor marks on the corners. In game the worn blade is visible during inspect, while the purple accent still reads strongly.

What to look at before you buy

  • Look at the spine and the tip of the blade first, since that is where steel shows through soonest.
  • Compare the float position within the wear grade, as low and high floats of the same grade can look quite different on the blade.
  • Check the corners of the purple bolster for chips if you want the accent to look clean.
  • Decide whether you need StatTrak™ and check for a name tag before buying.

Who should buy Field-Tested

  • Players who like a used look with steel showing on the blade.
  • Buyers looking for a balance between appearance and cost.
  • Conclusion: a practical everyday grade where the purple accent still stands out.
