Skin overview
Stained gives the M9 Bayonet a patchy, darkened blade with bluish stains spread across the metal. In Well-Worn the patina looks thinner on the spine, around the serrations and near the tip, and lighter bare steel shows through in places. For a buyer who likes a used, working knife look, this grade fits the theme of the finish.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Well-Worn
The blade is covered in a forced patina of dark charcoal and grey patches with pale blue-grey blotches and thin lighter outlines between them. A polished strip along the cutting edge and the fuller hole stay bright and contrast with the stained metal, while the serrated spine runs dark.
The spine, serrations and tip show clear patches of lighter bare steel where the patina has thinned. Scratches spread onto the flat of the blade and soften the borders between stains. In game the knife looks lighter and more uneven, though the dark-and-blue mottling remains recognisable. The middle of the blade face holds the most of its colour.
Well-Worn quality — float range 0.38–0.45

What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the cleaner end of a grade show fewer scuffs on the spine and tip.
- Compare the stain placement on the inspect screen, as some copies carry more blue and others more dark grey on the visible side.
- Look at the serrations, tip and blade edges, which lose the patina first.
- Check for a name tag if you prefer the default item name.
Who should buy Well-Worn
- Players who enjoy a used, working knife look that matches the patina theme.
- Budget-minded buyers who still want visible stains on the blade.
- A fitting pick if the worn look is part of the appeal for you.
