How the skin looks in Factory New

The long, narrow blade carries a grey damascus pattern of fine wavy lines that run from the base toward the needle point, with a darker band along the spine. The bolsters with their small guard prongs and the pommel cap are bright polished steel. The handle has brown wood-grain scales held by steel rivets, set over a dark frame along the back. On worn copies the cutting edge and the tip lose definition first, then scratches spread across the flat of the blade. The wooden scales and polished fittings change far less than the blade.

The damascus lines are sharp and continuous over the whole blade, including the tip. The edge shows no scratches and the spine band stays clean. In game the blade reads as smooth patterned steel even on close inspection. Fittings and handle look untouched.
