Skin overview
Stained gives the Stiletto a forced patina of grey and blue tones, and in Battle-Scarred much of it has worn back to raw steel. What remains are darker patches toward the spine and near the bolster, mixed with scratched bright metal. The silhouette, polished fittings and brown handle stay intact, so the knife is still easy to identify.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
How the skin looks in Battle-Scarred
The blade carries the patina: cloudy grey, smoky blue and darker steel patches spread unevenly from the tip to the ricasso, with lighter reflective areas between them. The bolsters, the guard and the pommel cap remain polished bright steel and frame the stained blade.
Most of the blade is worn back to scratched bright steel, and the patina survives only as scattered dark patches near the spine and bolster. The cutting edge and tip are fully exposed. In game the knife reads mostly as plain steel with a dirty, uneven tint. The handle, pins and polished fittings keep their look.

What to look at before you buy
- Inspect the blade in game, since the layout of the stain patches differs from copy to copy.
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, because the edge and tip lose the patina first.
- Look at whether a darker or lighter stain layout suits your taste better than the float alone suggests.
- Check for a name tag and the StatTrak™ counter if those matter to you.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Budget buyers who mainly want the Stiletto model and its animations.
- Players who like a knife that looks mostly like raw, scratched steel.
- Conclusion: an entry option where the knife itself matters more than the patina.
