Skin overview
★ Stiletto Knife | Stained puts a forced patina on the long, narrow blade of the Stiletto, a mottled mix of grey, smoky blue and dark steel tones. In Factory New the stain sits on the blade as an even, unbroken layer, so the cloudy pattern reads as a deliberate finish rather than wear. The polished bolsters and brown handle scales complete a restrained, classic look.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Factory New
The blade carries the patina: cloudy grey, smoky blue and darker steel patches spread unevenly from the tip to the ricasso, with lighter reflective areas between them. The bolsters, the guard and the pommel cap remain polished bright steel and frame the stained blade. The handle has brown wood-like scales with orange, rusty mottling, steel pins and the release button set into the side. On worn copies the patina fades first along the cutting edge, at the tip and on the flat surfaces that catch light, exposing plain steel underneath.
The patina covers the whole blade with no visible breaks, and the edge and tip keep the same mottled tone as the rest. The polished fittings and the handle scales look clean. In game at normal distance the blade reads as a uniform cloudy dark steel. This is the grade where the stain pattern is seen exactly as designed.

What to look at before you buy
- Inspect the blade in game, since the layout of the stain patches differs from copy to copy.
- Check where the float sits within the wear range, because the edge and tip lose the patina first.
- Look at whether a darker or lighter stain layout suits your taste better than the float alone suggests.
- Check for a name tag and the StatTrak™ counter if those matter to you.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the patina exactly as designed, with no exposed steel.
- Players who prefer a calm, dark blade without bright accents.
- Conclusion: the full version of the finish for those who value a clean blade.
