The finish is a stained, marble-like layer on the blade with blue veining over light steel, while the handle keeps its dark composite look. At Minimal Wear the patina stays almost unchanged, and any marks are hard to spot without inspecting the tip. It gives nearly the clean look at a less strict grade.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
How the skin looks in Minimal Wear
The finish covers the blade only: light blue-grey steel with darker blue veins and cloudy stains, giving a marble-like look that runs from the tip past the fuller cutout and the gut hook. The serrated section and the spine carry the same stains, slightly darker toward the back of the blade.
Faint marks may appear at the very tip and along the cutting edge, visible only on close inspection. The stains and veins in the middle of the blade look unchanged. At normal distance in game it is practically indistinguishable from Factory New. The spine and fuller area stay clean.
Minimal Wear wear: float 0.07–0.15
The whole float range of ★ Survival Knife | Stained is 0–1; Minimal Wear takes the 0.07–0.15 segment (8% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within its wear grade, since lower values keep the edge and tip cleaner.
- Look at the stain pattern on the blade, as the amount of blue and the placement of veins differ between copies.
- Inspect the cutting edge, tip and serrations, which lose the patina first.
- Check whether the item is StatTrak™ or carries a name tag if that matters to you.
Who the Minimal Wear quality suits
- Players who want a near-clean look without paying for the top grade.
- Buyers who care more about the stain pattern than about tiny marks at the tip.
- A sensible balance between appearance and cost.
