Skin overview
★ Ursus Knife | Rust Coat in Battle-Scarred leans fully into the abandoned-tool look the finish is built around. Rust spreads across most of the faceted blade, and the copy reads as a warm brown-orange knife with only traces of steel left. For many buyers this heavy corrosion is the point of the skin, not a flaw.
Item type: knife. Covert is the top weapon rarity: usually the most prominent items of a collection or case.
Patina: an aged metal surface; wear is part of the design, so the gap between qualities is less visible.
Appearance in Battle-Scarred
The finish sits on the blade only: the tanto blade with its flat facets and the serrated section near the guard is covered in a mottled mix of blue-grey steel and orange-brown rust spots. The rust gathers in uneven clouds, and the angled tip and the spine take a darker, more weathered tone.
In Battle-Scarred the rust merges into large patches and covers most of the blade, including the facets near the guard and the serrated section. Bare steel survives only in small islands, and on high-float copies it can almost disappear. In game the blade reads as warm brown with a rough texture, clearly different from the greyer Well-Worn look. The olive grip and black fittings stay unchanged and contrast more strongly with the corroded blade.
Battle-Scarred wear: float 0.45–1
The whole float range of ★ Ursus Knife | Rust Coat is 0.4–1; Battle-Scarred takes the 0.45–1 segment (92% of the scale). The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

What to check before buying
- Check where the float sits within the grade, since a lower value leaves more grey steel and a higher one gives an almost fully rusted blade.
- Look at the inspect view of the blade flat and tip, because the rust layout varies between copies and decides how much clean steel remains.
- Decide whether you want the StatTrak™ version and check that its counter matches what you expect.
- See whether the copy carries a name tag and whether you like it.
Who the Battle-Scarred quality suits
- Players who like the fully corroded, abandoned-tool look the finish is named for.
- Buyers looking for an affordable entry into owning an Ursus Knife.
- The choice for those who see heavy rust as character, not damage.
