Skin overview

FAMAS | Hexane is a Mil-Spec Grade rifle finish with a honeycomb hydrographic: thin steel-blue hexagon outlines over a dark slate base, scattered with dull red flecks. In Factory New the grid lines are sharp and even across the whole body, and the red spots keep a clear, saturated tone. This is the version to pick if you want the pattern to read as crisp as on the preview.

Item type: rifle. The weapon is available only on the Counter-Terrorist side. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Hydrographic: the pattern is applied as a film over the metal; wear rubs it down to the base, starting with raised parts.

How the skin looks in Factory New

The receiver, carry handle, handguard and magazine are covered in a dark slate-navy base with a continuous grid of thin steel-blue hexagon outlines, and many cells are filled with irregular dull red flecks. The pistol grip and trigger guard are left in a plain matte blue-grey, which separates the lower part of the rifle from the patterned body. The barrel and muzzle stay dark metal, and the stock carries the same dark base with the grid running along its sides. On worn copies the paint first goes from the top edges of the carry handle, the front of the handguard, the magazine edges and the rear of the stock, where bare metal starts to show through the hexagons.

The hexagon grid is complete and uniform on every part of the rifle, including the carry handle and magazine. The red flecks keep their full tone and the base has no light spots. In game the pattern reads as a fine, even texture over a dark body. Nothing on the weapon shows exposed metal.

Factory New wear: float 0–0.07

The whole float range of FAMAS | Hexane is 0–0.4; Factory New takes the 0–0.07 segment (18% of the scale). Within the range, copies with a lower float look cleaner and are valued higher.

Which stickers suit it

Red, crimson and dark blue stickers repeat the colours of the flecks and the base, while steel or holo silver accents match the hexagon lines. Placements on the flat side of the receiver keep the grid visible around them.

What to look at before you buy

• Check where the float sits within the wear range, since copies near the top of Field-Tested look close to Well-Worn.
• Look at the carry handle and magazine edges in the inspect view, as these parts lose paint first.
• Pattern placement shifts the red flecks only slightly, so it rarely needs special attention on this skin.
• Check applied stickers and a name tag, which change the look and are not removed with the item.
