M249 | Deep Relief covers the machine gun in a contour-line drawing that looks like layered relief, moving from a pale sand-yellow top layer into deeper greens. In Factory New the lines on the magazine box, receiver panels and stock are sharp and the colour steps are clean, so the layered effect reads at its strongest. This is the grade for a buyer who wants the drawing exactly as designed.
Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.
Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.
Appearance in Factory New
The barrel, receiver frame and small parts are kept in a dark olive-grey, which works as a frame for the coloured panels. The receiver side panels, the box magazine and the stock carry the main drawing: concentric contour lines in pale yellow, lime and deeper green that imitate stepped layers going inward, like a relief map. Each panel is outlined by a darker border, so the bright centres stand out against the body. On worn copies the paint goes first on the corners and edges of the magazine box, the edges of the stock and the raised parts of the receiver panels, followed by the flat surfaces of the box.
All contour lines are crisp and the colour steps from sand to green are clean on every panel. The edges of the magazine box and stock show no paint loss. In game the bright box sits right in the player's view and reads as a fresh, saturated green drawing. Everything on the weapon looks clean.

Which stickers suit it
Gold, sand, olive and lime stickers echo the layered palette, while dark or black designs blend with the frame. Placing them on the receiver near the panels keeps the contour drawing on the box visible.
What to look at before you buy
- Look at the float position within the grade, since a low float in Field-Tested or Well-Worn noticeably reduces scratching on the box.
- Inspect the corners and edges of the magazine box first, as they are the most visible part in first-person view and wear earliest.
- Check the stock edges and receiver panels for paint loss on worn copies.
- Note any applied stickers or a name tag, and whether they suit the green palette.
Who the Factory New quality suits
- Collectors who want the contour drawing with clean edges and full colour.
- Sticker crafters who need a clean base for a green or gold theme.
- The choice for those who value the finish exactly as designed.
