Skin overview

Deep Relief is built around a sand-to-green layered pattern that fills the magazine box and stock of the M249. In Field-Tested the edges of these panels start to show scratches, yet the contour lines and the colour gradient remain clearly readable. For most players this grade keeps the character of the skin while noticeably lowering the entry cost.

Item type: machinegun. Mil-Spec Grade is the lowest rarity found in cases and the most common one among them.

Custom Paint Job: hand-painted across the whole body; this is the type where wear shows most, the artwork rubs down to metal.

Appearance in Field-Tested

The barrel, receiver frame and small parts are kept in a dark olive-grey, which works as a frame for the coloured panels. The receiver side panels, the box magazine and the stock carry the main drawing: concentric contour lines in pale yellow, lime and deeper green that imitate stepped layers going inward, like a relief map.

Scratches become visible along the edges and corners of the magazine box and on the stock, and the raised parts of the receiver panels start to lose paint. The contour lines are still readable, though the lightest layers may look slightly dulled. In game the box shows some scuffing at its edges but keeps its overall green pattern. The centres of the panels remain mostly clean.

Field-Tested wear: float 0.15–0.38

The float of M249 | Deep Relief ranges from 0 to 1; the Field-Tested quality covers 0.15–0.38 — 23% of this skin’s scale. The lower the float within the range, the cleaner the surface looks and the higher a copy is usually priced.

Where the skin comes from: collection and case

The skin’s collection is The Operation Broken Fang Collection with 17 skins in total.

It drops from Operation Broken Fang Case.

StatTrak™ and Souvenir

There is also a the StatTrak™ version: the counter on the weapon tracks kills. Right now it is 15% cheaper than the regular one. There is also a the Souvenir version with tournament stickers.

Which stickers suit it

Gold, sand, olive and lime stickers echo the layered palette, while dark or black designs blend with the frame. Placing them on the receiver near the panels keeps the contour drawing on the box visible.

What to check before buying

  • Look at the float position within the grade, since a low float in Field-Tested or Well-Worn noticeably reduces scratching on the box.
  • Inspect the corners and edges of the magazine box first, as they are the most visible part in first-person view and wear earliest.
  • Check the stock edges and receiver panels for paint loss on worn copies.
  • Note any applied stickers or a name tag, and whether they suit the green palette.

Who the Field-Tested quality suits

  • Players who use the M249 now and then and want the skin's character for less.
  • Buyers looking for a low float within the grade for a cleaner box.
  • A balanced pick between looks and cost.
